Bachelor/Master Thesis (f/m/d): Molecular Photography of Argon-Water
Recently we studied strong-field ionization of the rather unusual molecule argon-water, a compound of water molecule and argon atom, held together by van-der-Waals forces. To further investigate the structure of this argon-water molecule, we plan to use the Coulomb-explosion technique to employ a strong laser field for structural imaging.
We are looking for highly motivated students with an aptitude for strong-field physics and data analysis.
You will perform cutting-edge experimental research visualizing the structure of unusual molecules like argon-water by using high-power femtosecond lasers to perform “Molecular Photography”.
We offer exciting Bachelor and Master thesis projects at a junction of physics and chemistry in an excellent research environment.
We seek highly motivated students (physics, chemistry, or related field) with a keen interest in the microscopic world and an aptitude for research. A background in optics and programming skills are desirable.
